SpaceX tests strong engines on a rocket to Mars: Starship. In a move that will help advance its ambitious goals to ultimately send people to Mars and beyond, SpaceX has started the engines of the most powerful rocket in the world.
At SpaceX’s facility in Boca Chica, Texas, a static fire test was conducted on Thursday.
Elon Musk, the billionaire owner of the business, claimed that the firm has successfully fired 31 of the 33 engines, which was “enough to achieve orbit.”
Using his Starship rockets, a system that consists of a Super Heavy Booster, and the Starship spaceship, Mr. Musk intends to pave the path for human existence on several planets.
SpaceX shared videos of the booster’s engines firing on social media.
The Starship spaceship employs six of the 33 Raptor engines atop the launcher, each of which generates 230 tonnes of thrust.
That is a little bit more than the RS-25 engines that the brand-new Space Launch System moon rocket from NASA employs.
There was 4.6 million kg of propellant placed onto the starship.
Prior to conducting an orbital test flight, SpaceX successfully conducted a critical fueling test of the deep-space rocket on January 24.
At the time, SpaceX said that “Starship performed its first full flight-like wet dress rehearsal at Starbase today.”
This was the first instance of a fully loaded merged ship and booster.

After performing a partial return, the booster will touch down in the Gulf of Mexico around 32 kilometers from the coast.
It will enter orbit before making a powered, precise, soft-ocean landing about 100 kilometers off the northwestern shore of the Hawaiian island of Kauai.
But before the rocket can launch, SpaceX must obtain a launch permit from US officials.
